WANNA LAUGH?!?!
Tony Walker
This weekend I went camping with my son. We pitched our tent, went hiking, fishing, etc.
During the night, I woke my son & said, "Son, look up at the stars & tell me what you see."
My son says, "Well I see millions of stars, and even if a few of those have planets, it's quite likely there are some planets like earth, and if there are a few planets like earth out there, there might also be life."
I reply, "No you idiot. Somebody stole our tent."

ARE YOU READY?

I have been watching the news coverage from the devastation in Japan. I am seeing things so familiar to what happened when people were looking for people during the aftermath of the terrorist attack on the United States. I brings back such horrific memories.

SHE SAID....
A knight in shining armor! What a picture that evokes. The errant knight on his white steed, off to battle who knows what, for the honor of the lady fair! His code – honor, chivalry, truth and justice. We don’t see many armor clad young men galloping down I95 these days, but that doesn’t mean that the days of chivalry are over. Many men, today, are just as worthy of knighthood as Sir Gawain, Sir Lancelot, and even Sir Galahad! They are the men who jump in to stand up for a friend. They don’t participate in “bashing” others who aren’t
there to defend themselves. They also refrain from the mindless bragging many men
feel necessary when they’ve “scored”. Instead, they speak with fondness and respect for
women. Sure, they may kid around or tease, but in their hearts and in their character, that
respect is evident.

Should Social security benefits for the mentally ill or disabled be able to be revoked by one session with one doctor or therapist who works for the social security administration???
Our own DRL family member is dealing with this exact issue. Read Mothers Anguish by Marion Pellicano Ambrose. I myself have been fighting with the Social Security Administartion for my disabled son since 2002 and for my husband since 2005.
How do you fix a broken system??? How do you rally to help those with justified needs that have been revoked??? Kindly submit your answers, suggestion and or comments here!

A MOTHER'S ANGUISH
Marion Pellicano Ambrose
How can life be so unfair? I know I promised to try and be positive but times like this make it impossible!
My adopted son is Bi-Polar and has Intermittent Explosive Disorder. His birth mother is mildly mentally retarded and his birth father was a cocaine addict and also Bi-Polar. My first husband died in the line of duty when my son was 15 months old. My son received a death benefit until age 18 when it turned into a disability benefit. He suffered through
dozens of hospitalizations, various drug trials, counseling, behavior modification, special ed and whatever else we could find to help him. He tried several times to work at a job. It always started out well, he was polite and hard working, but then he would cycle and become aggressive, caustic, abusive and careless. Coworkers didn’t want to be near him. Employers were afraid of him. Back to square one!

Random rants, huh? Okay here’s one.....
Been hangin’ here at the lounge doing all this writing for a few weeks now. According to the dynamic duo of co-creators, Dawn & Barbara, I am being well read. Nice to know. (That and a dollar won’t even get you a phone call.) Wait for it..... wait for it..... here comes the rant:
WHY ISN’T ANYONE TALKING TO ME????? It’s easy to talk to me. I'm easy.

The other night I went to a bar & bumped into Dawn Boyle. What a nice surprise! Much to her disappointment, I sat down right next to her. I gave her a nice up & down look, then glance down at my watch.
Dawn notices this & asks, "Is your date running late?"
"No," I say, "I just bought this state of the art watch & I was testing it."
"A state of the art watch?" Dawn asks, "What's so special about it?"
"Well uses alpha waves to telepathically talk to me," I explain.
Boyle giggles & ask, "What's it telling you now?"
I reply, "Well it says you're not wearing any panties."
After spitting her drink Boyle says, "Well it must be broken because I am wearing panties."
That's when I realized the damn thing was an hour fast.

I'll BLOG IF I WANT TO...
Barbara Ward-Finneran
It’s my blog, and I’ll blog if I want to, blog if I want to... WANT TO? I’m dying to!!!!
Wife. Mother. Daughter. Friend. Teacher. Artist. Graphic Designer. Founder of Drawn 2 Design. (My business that happened to take on a new design client with great opportunity as this blog went live.) Writer. Runner. Exercise Enthusiast.
Life so gets in the way! Can you relate?!
That ‘s said. Let me set the record straight. I am livin’ at the lounge. (And, if you don’t believe me, ask my husband, as Dawn has become the other woman - and not in a good way. LOL) In earlier in the year when Dawn and I decided to start Delayed Reaction Lounge and internal war started within the artists in me. The visual artist and the creative artist battled at will to be certain both the writing and design at the lounge would be held to certain artistic standards. Originally I had grand illusions (later seen to be total delusions!) of designing the site from scratch. HA!

LUNCH TIME POLL
Do Me a Favor
I was speaking to two friends last week. They were arguing the fact that one friend sometimes does her husband a "favor" to get him to do stuff around the house, ie. take out the garbage, clean out the kitty litter box and let her spend money.
Today's questions is: Do you use "favors" to get what you want?
