Last year'sBreast Cancer Survivor Team
Event takes place in Downtown Disney
Orlando International Dragon Boat Festival is back for its 4th annual event in Orlando, FL. The world's fastest growing water sport is also the most exciting. Twenty paddlers move in unison, combining strength with teamwork in a boat whose elaborate design originates in ancient China. It's all About Teamwork with a maximum of 20 paddlers, with a steer person and a drummer. The drummer in the front determines the pace at which the paddlers row. You can hear the beating of the drums echoing across the lake. As they move closer to the finish, the pace quickens and the spectators are filled with anticipation. It’s a great way to spend the day! The colorful costumes, the decorated boats and the exciting atmosphere all make this an event that should not be missed!
Please contact info@gwndragonboat.com   or call (416) 962-8899 for any event questions or details.

ELECTRIC PARADES, THEY ELECTRIFY YOUR SOUL

JENN COPP

There we were in the middle of Epcot Center. Taking a break and sitting watching the kids play with hula hoops. We honed in on a man. He was watching his daughter play with a hula hoop as well. But this dad was drunk. His daughters name was also Lily. So conversation started. He looked at me and my sister and said, he just got home from Afghanistan and he was seeing his son for the first time. He was at Disney with his wife and 2 kids. He said, "It thrills me that people can be this happy, but for him it is hard to understand. I bury a friend every time I go back".

FISHNETS & OTHER CONTRAPTIONS

DAWN BOYLE
I have a saying I use with my kids to get them to eat different things "if you try it, you might like it". That being said I have one kid that will try anything and the other - not so much.

Growing up I was so scared to put my toe in to test the waters on many levels. I never ate fish, didn't swim in the ocean til I was a teenager and would NEVER go into a haunted house at an amusment park. I have been implementing my try it-like it theory within myself for a few months...it's amazing what I have found out about myself and how I have learned a love for things I would never imagined eating or doing. Take this blog for instance, a couple of months ago Barbara and I spoke about how much we loved writing.
