CINDY AND CASEY MAKE EYE CONTACT IN COURT

Marion Pellicano Ambrose
Cindy Anthony testifies in the murder trial of her daughter Casey Anthony
Today’s trial began at 1pm as the State was awaiting the arrival of FBI Forensic Mitochondrial Analyst, Catherine Theisen.  Theisen testified about hair samples she processed in the Casey Anthony case. Her testimony confirmed that the hair from Casey’s trunk and hair from Caylee’s skull were a mitochondrial match. This shows that the hair was from a family member on the maternal side (Caylee, Casey, Cindy or Lee).
Cindy Anthony took the stand again today to testify about the length and color of her daughter’s hair in 2008.  An interesting turn of events occurred when Casey and her mother Cindy made eye contact, which has not happened since this trial began. Up to now Casey has avoided looking at her parents in court. Observers reported that Cindy mouthed the words “I love you” to Casey. Casey was said to shrug and slightly grimace for a second and then reverted to her stone faced demeanor.
Bobby Williams, a tattoo artist, was also called to testify today. It was Williams who gave Casey her now famous “Bella Vita” (Good Life) tattoo. He stated the Casey was given her tatoo on July 2 and on July 15th came in again to make an appointment for herself and a friend. She mentioned that her daughter Caylee would accompany her on the 19th, the day of the appointment. Attornies for Casey Anthony objected to the State's line of quetioning of Williams and called yet again for a mistrial based on the animation of the skull, the heart shaped sticker testimony and the State's bringing up the subject of people getting tatoos to remember loved ones that have passed. Judge Perry denied the motion for a mistrial. The State announced that they will enter 2 more pieces of evidence tomorrow morning and then rest. The defense will begin their presentation on Thursday.

LUNCH TIME POLL...

Summer is almost officially here.  In many places it has already arrived with the heat or the fact that school is out.  With all it's fabulousness - summer come with a price,  less is more!  This is essentially true of clothing.
What does this season do to your body confidence? Is there anything worse then shopping for a swimsuit?
Except perhaps in a whole different way - the view of someone in a swim suit that they have no business wearing.  Does swimsuit season leave you longing for the freezing?

Do men have these issues?
Where would you rate your body confidence?
Do you dread wearing a swim suit?  Pretty confident? No cover up needed?
Somewhere in between?
Is it all really about size and curves - or does attitude matter?
What do you think about stripping down when the temp goes up? How does the view at the beach or the pool effect you?

CELEBRATING FLAG DAY

Marion Pellicano Ambrose

Today, June 14th , we celebrate Flag Day in the United States of America. On this day in 1777, the Continental Congress proposed that the US have a national flag to replace the British Union Jack. A flag was designed with 13 stripes and 13 stars to represent the 13 colonies, now considered states. It wasn’t until 1877 when the centennial of the adoption of the flag was celebrated that the flag was flown over every government building. In August of 1949, President Harry S. Truman proclaimed June 14th as Flag Day. Since then, Americans are encouraged to fly Old Glory outside their homes and businesses, although it is not a national holiday. Each year the President of the United States issues a proclamation to commemorate Flag Day.
The history of our flag is a rich and interesting one. The US flag has changed design more than any other in the world. From its birth to its present form, our flag has represented the pride and determination of the American people and has been a symbol of hope and freedom to all.

Take this quiz to see what you know about the American Flag and its history!

HE SAID.... I'M ASKING

Tony Walker
This week's He Said is really a He's Asking.
But it's my fellow men I am asking, not the women.
Guys... what's with you & sports??
Now I am a baseball nut. But I am NOT one of those guys who turns off what the wife is saying when she is speaking during the game.  Is the game that important? It is? What's so important about it?

I know guys whose whole day is based on the outcome of whatever game they care about.
I even know some guys who skip an event at their kids school or other important family events because a certain game is on.

GUYS!!! This is not a way to score points with the ladies!!! "OK honey. The game is over. Get on the bed!" If only it was that easy. I personally do not know any women who will give some after I ignored her for the past 3 hours.

There's one friend who talked about this with me. He said that watching football every Sunday from September through January was all he ever asked of his wife. He was all hers the rest of the year & every day except Sunday during football season. I guess in theory that sounds reasonable but in reality that's not always possible.

So come fellas.... explain to me why the guys do this. And be honest... tell us if your wife is OK with this or not.

And ladies... tell us how you feel about this. How do you rectify it?
Is there anything you ladies like so much you'll ignore us men? My wife ignores me all the time so I don't know what she thinks!

SOUL FOOD

Barbara Ward-Finneran

All that is possible is measured by your persistence. A determined soul knows that it is not about how you are going to do it or whose going to let you. But rather about concentrating your focus on the mantra that nothing is going to stop me!

Keep the promises that you make to yourself!

WANNA LAUGH?!?!?!

Jesus is strolling through Heaven when he sees an old man sitting on a cloud, looking sad.
"Old man," says Jesus, "This is Heaven. Why are you so sad?"
The old man doesn't even look up. He just says, "I've been looking for my son & I haven't been able to find him."
Jesus says, "Tell me about him."
"Well, on earth I was a carpenter & one day my son went away. I never heard from him again & I was hoping to find him here in Heaven."
His heart pounding suddenly in his chest, Jesus grabs the man & says, "Father??"
The old man says, "Pinocchio??"

GO GET A NEW BEST FRIEND!

Marion Pellicano Ambrose
I’m at that age where my kids are grown and I just can’t wait to be a grandmother! I want both my children to finish college, get a Masters and get a good start in their careers, but I keep hearing the pitter patter of little feet in my dreams.
My daughter finally found the solution to my problem. Today she adopted an adorable Siamese Kitty who she named Takei Tubbington. Takei is a small, thin cream colored cat with dark brown accents.  We found her at the South Brevard Animal Shelter on Otter Creek Road off US1.

Takei Tubbington
We showed up at 10am, not realizing they didn’t open until noon. We stood on the steps for a minute discussing what we should do for a few hours when the door opened and Sharon, the lady who runs the shelter, warmly welcomed us and invited us in. It was like a wonderland for cats. Large, small, skinny, fat, fluffy, bald, old and young cats roamed the entire area. Some were playing with the many toys; some were dozing on window ledges or peeking out of playhouses. All of them were happy, well fed and obviously comfortable and familiar with the ladies who work there.

Stanley is still waiting for a friend!
We walked around and met several beautiful cats, but as we stood at the front desk speaking to Sharon, a little Siamese jumped up and began snuggling with Jeanne. Sharon explained that nobody wanted this particular cat because she had a weak immune system. She didn’t have AIDS, but caught colds and illnesses more easily than the other cats. This kitty played with Jeanne’s long red hair and gazed up adoringly with her big blue “Puss in Boots” eyes! That was it! I knew I had a grand kitty!
Off to the pet store and Wal-Mart we went to get a carrier, a playhouse, bed, litter box, food, dishes, a collar and name tag, toys, toys and more toys, Kitty litter and ……more toys. We arrived back at the shelter with a trunkful of kitty goodies! Takei was ready and waiting for us. I know from this day forward, that little kitty will want for nothing. She will be loved, cared for and cherished all her little life!

Tommy and Clancy are Soul Mates and need a forever home!
But there are so many more cats and kittens left at the shelter! Most are perfectly healthy. Some have special needs, like the one with extra toes which made her paws look like chameleon feet! There was also Bessie, a lovable, beautiful kitty who happens to be HUGE!  Some of the cats are Katrina survivors, some were dumped on highways, streets or over the shelter fence, others were brought to the shelter by people who were moving or who just didn’t want a cat anymore. Whatever their story, they all have one thing in common, they would all love to be in a home with people who would love and care for them. In return, they provide love, companionship, positive energy, and someone who will be grateful and loyal to you for the rest of its life!
So why not stop by your local shelter and consider adopting a new pet. A lovable dog or cat is waiting for you to come and be his new best friend!
Here are a few National pet adoption sites, or you can contact a shelter near you.

Don't forget, June is Adopt A Cat Month!
