ROYAL BABY ON THE WAY?

Marion Pellicano Ambrose

The news is out - Princess Kate and Prince William are expecting. Reportedly, a friend of Kate's blabbed the news last week. A representative for the royal family made the following statement:
"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby.  The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news." The representative also confirmed that Princess Kate had been admitted to the hospital.
"The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum.  As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter."

Hyperemesis Gravidarum is very acute morning sickness. It requires hydration and supplemental nutrients. Princess Kate has not yet reached the 12 week mark in her pregnancy. The royal couple is expected to make a formal announcement sometime this month.

As William's first born, the baby will be next in line to the throne after his, or her father. Yes- boy or girl, this baby has a pretty good chance of being a monarch! Since almost 2 billion people watched as Kate and William were married, I imagine this pregnancy and birth will be in the spotlight over the next several months.

Let's hope the baby is healthy, happy and is allowed to grow up free from the craziness of the paparazzi that had so plagued the Royal Family.

I JUST DON'T KNOW!

Marion Pellicano Ambrose
What's going on in the world today? I was browsing through events of the past 24 hours and these three articles just disgusted me. What were these guys thinking?

Minnesota, USA                                                                                                               A Minnesota man tried to kill a fetus by stomping on his pregnant girlfriend's stomach, police said. Kenneth L. Turner, 28, of Fridley, kicked, punched and choked his on-again, off-again girlfriend at her apartment during a three-hour attack early Friday, at one point ordering her to lie on her back before stomping on her stomach with both feet. The victim is two months pregnant. During the attack, Turner told her she didn't "deserve the baby" and said he was going to kill it, the newspaper said. He was arrested after the woman managed to call police at around 8 a.m. The woman, who was not identified, suffered vaginal bleeding and pain in her stomach, but police say the fetus survived.

Edinburgh, Scotland                                                                                                    One of three women who claim a man tried to murder them in Edinburgh and Fife has told a court she was raped, bitten and repeatedly strangled by him.The 20-year-old also claimed James Paterson, 23, from Lochgelly, Fife, kicked her in the stomach when she was expecting a baby. She told the High Court in Aberdeen she still has Mr Paterson's teeth marks in her arm from more than two years ago. Mr Paterson denies the allegations against him. He is also accused of raping two of the three women and attacking two newborn babies.

Pennsylvania, USA                                                                                                          A Bristol Township man is accused of stabbing his pregnant girlfriend several times with a large knife early Thursday.  Glenn Witherspoon, 24, told Jessica Field "I'm sorry I have to do this," before attacking her as they sat in a car.Field, 22, told police Witherspoon called her several times early Thursday morning and asked her to come to his home on Airacobra Street. Investigators say When Field arrived, Witherspoon got into her car and wanted to go to the Lennox Parking Lot to watch the sunrise. When they arrived at the lot, Witherspoon pulled a knife and stabbed Field in the chest, just above her heart. Field and Witherspoon struggled and Field was stabbed several more times according to officers who say Field suffered a three inch laceration on the side of her neck. Field was able to lock the car doors when Witherspoon got out to get something from the trunk, as Field drove away, Witherspoon jumped on the hood of the car to try to stop her, said police. She made it to her home on Jackson Street and relatives called 911. At about the same time police received a call about a man walking along Monroe Street who appeared to be bleeding from the head. When officers arrived on Jackson Street, investigators say they approached the man, later identified as Witherspoon, and he told them, "I didn't want to do it, is she alright?" Witherspoon is facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and possession of a weapon. He was arraigned Thursday before Bristol District Judge Frank Peranteau and sent to Bucks County Prison in lieu of $1 million cash bail. Field is being treated at Aria Health's Torresdale campus and is expected to survive. Police said that Fields is about eight weeks pregnanat and it's believed that Witherspoon is the father.

LAKE GEORGE POLICE & DOG BITES

Tony Walker

Dawn's "Dog People" reminded me of one of my "did that just happen?" stories. Mine also involved a dog.

It was August 1998, about 2 or 3 weeks before my wedding. My wife & her friends have been going up to Lake George at least once a year for a long time & this was the first time I went with them. This was also my first trip ever to Lake George. What an introduction.
We spent a few days there & were about to head home. We checked out of our hotel, hitting "Grandmas" for breakfast (that place is the best!) then going straight home. After an enjoyable breakfast one of our friends needed to go back to the hotel.... I don't even remember why. For reasons I also don't remember, we all decided to go back to the hotel. We had our own car so I have no idea why we all had to go.
Anyway, we were driving down the strip in Lake George where there is nothing but hotels for what seems like 1000 miles. All of a sudden traffic going both ways comes to a complete stop. What is all the commotion? Turns out there is a little tiny dog out in the middle of the road. The dog is freaked, barking & running all over the place. So we all pull over... here we come to save the day!! I'm out in the street, I had both legs then so I am ready for action, when the dog runs right to me. I grab him. He bites me. He hardly scratched me but I scream like a baby & let go of the little bastard. Some hero I am. The dog takes off, right past my wife, who grabs him. He bites her & her best friend who was trying to help until I grabbed the dog once again.

OLD WIVES TALES

Dawn Boyle

After reading Marions' post about the "extreme" Super Moon it got me thinking. When I was pregnant with Sarah the pregnancy that lasted forever, I would stand outside under the moon and BEG for her to come out needless to say it didn't work. Makes me wonder how many women will go into labor tonight with the Super Moon. How many women will get pregnant after this weekends event. There are many old wives tales that support a woman's balance with the moon. I totally agree with it and have proof, all the women in my house have been very hormonal and it seems to me that there are a bunch of crazies out on the road today...

Be safe...send us your pictures of the moon tonight to delayedreactionlounge@gmail.com we will do a blog with our favorite entries entries.  Captions will be placed on photos used within the blog to credit the photographer.  Please include a line in the email that states, I, ________, took this full moon picture and allow Delayed Reaction Lounge to post it.  Pictures need to be an attachment rather then pasted  into the body of the email.

Perhaps, Jillian can be enticed to share an escapade involving a full moon and use the photos there.
