My buddy Salbo & I have a running joke about how many people I know from high school. We joke about it but when I think about it, it is actually kind of interesting.
The joke is that so many times I have a connection to something through an old high school friend.
For example.... My pool has some serious rust on it. An old high school friend is in the pool business so I called him.
My comedy group has gotten several gigs from old high school friends who run resorts, own restaurants, are involved in an organization that needs a fundraiser, etc.
I went to a prosthetic conference yesterday. (Tuesday June 7) An old high school friend works for the company that put the event together so he put me on the list.
One of the lead investigators in the Caylee Anthony case in Florida is an old high school friend.
Of course there is this wonderful site run by 2 hotties.... one of them is an old high school friend.
In fact, coincidentally Boyle knows my pal Salbo. Salbo is not a high school friend but someone we both know through 2 completely different avenues.
These are just a few instances. Once this running joke got started with Salbo & I, I started to realize how many old friends really did go on to do some wonderful things. Major surgeons, detectives, entertainers, musicians, graphic artists, teachers, firemen, & so many more came from the class that Boyle & I graduated from at Hicksville High. Our small world has many from it who are shakin' things up. Don't get me wrong... we also have our dead beats too. But when I think about how many of our old friends went on to do some wonderful things I feel proud like it's a member of my family.
Salbo is always amazed at how many people from the old days I still know & how many of them are doing so many cool things.
Do you guys feel that way when an old friend does something extraordinary? Do any of you have a long list of people from your class who are doing great things too?

HE SAID....
Tony Walker
There is a guy I know who is a local musician here on Long Island. He plays in many bands. I've known this guy for around 20 years. This guy is a jerk. Pompous and rude. By coincidence my wife knew this guy before my wife and I knew each other. She used to see him play in a band.
Here's the reason this fits into a He Said Post.... my wife agrees that this guy is a jerk and she thinks he is pretty ugly BUT she is attracted to him because he plays in a band!!! WTF??!!! I know plenty of women who think that way about someone. "He's sexy because he's up on stage!" WHAT??? He's sexy because he is holding a guitar??? He's sexy because he's singing some top forty song that he actually doesn't even like??
Can you ladies explain this to me???
There are plenty of guys who can't sing but are the nicest guys in the world! But the jerk gets the girl because he holds a guitar?
What about the guy swinging a hammer?
What about the guy driving a truck?
What about the guy doing comedy?? (That last one is me. I want groupies damnit!!! LOL)

HE SAID.... I am more...
Tony Walker
In case you haven't noticed... I am a very sexual guy. Some of you will say that all guys are but I have been told that I am more "pumped up" than most men.
That being said, I am always all over my wife, Boyle, & some other gorgeous women, trying to get some lovin.
One thing that's discussed here at the Lounge once in a while is how to keep your sex life exciting. (Especially by Jillian!) I too am always looking for ways to keep things exciting & fresh. Cameras, toys, clubs, multiple partners, kitchen utensils, whips, etc. You name it, I've requested it. (Yes some of those requests are not meant to be taken seriously. Question is which ones?! LOL) My wife, being the normal person she is unlike me, always says no to my requests & we end up in bed doing the same thing. Don't get me wrong.... the "same thing" isn't a bad thing... better that than nothing! BUT, we've all agreed spicing things up is a good thing for a variety of reasons, so, I try but nothing works. Sometimes I'll ask my wife to come up with something...... um...... um....... um..... never mind honey.
So let me ask you guys.... Is doing something crazy, silly, off the cuff, (or whatever you wanna call it) out of the question? Remember when we were in our twenties? We were up for anything then! Why does have to change because we're in our forties?!
Tell me what you think. Also tell me some things you've done to keep things fresh... don't get shy on me.... tell me something you've done or the craziest thing you've done. My first wife & I did it in a movie theatre once, but that was obviously a long time ago. There.... I shared something crazy with you. You tell me what you've done & tell me if you think people in their forties should still be doing those kinds of things or not.

WHICH COMES FIRST...
THE ANSWER OR THE QUESTION
Tony Walker
One of the first things I do when I get on the computer is see what's happening at the Delayed Reaction Lounge. I have to tell you a secret... I have no idea why this site is called Delayed Reaction. But when I read Barbara's "How's Your Hump" I started asking myself some questions about this blog, this site, & my life as a whole.

But when I read Barbara's "How's Your Hump" I started asking myself some questions about this blog, this site, & my life as a whole.
Barbara thinks that Wednesday... or Hump Day.... is a middle of the week reminder that the weekend is coming but first you must finish out your chaotic week. She asks where is the living in a life of an over scheduled existence. In a world of so many responsibilities, where are the responsibilities to ourselves? Excellent points Barbara.
That's when I started thinking about the name of this site. Does Delayed Reaction mean we lost ourselves in our thirties so our dreams were delayed? Is it time to revisit those dreams?
Barbara's question of what about a responsibility to ourselves struck a chord with me. I definitely forgot my dreams for many years. It was a battle with cancer that made me realize
