GETTING SCREWED BY CORPORATE AMERICA

Tony Walker

Four months ago I bought phones for my kids. In these short 4 months, these phones have been lost 100 hundred times & now my daughter has broken hers.

I had nothing better to do today but go to the Verizon store to take care of this. But no biggie.... I insured the phones! No problem right? Wrong.
We get to the Verizon store. Verizon.... a company I absolutely love. That was sarcastic.
The woman hands me a pamphlet. "We don't fix phones here. You'll have to call the number on the pamphlet to get the phone replaced, which will cost you $45."
Why $45?? It's insured!
"If you didn't have the insurance it would cost you $200 so you should be happy."
WHAT??!!!
So I wasted my time going there NOW I have to sit on the phone to get the phone replaced? I have to pay $45??? Then I have to spend the time to put the old phone in the box they send, make sure all the proper paperwork is there, find a FedEx store to send it back, & do all this within a week or pay a $500 FINE!!!!
WHAT??!!!
Is this where Corporate America is headed?
We'll sell you a product. We'll take your money & give you this product. But if it breaks we can't help you. We're only here to take your money. YOU have to handle this problem yourself. If you're upset about this, you can cancel our service but you have to pay a termination fee. Basically we sucked which makes it understandable that you wanna leave us, but you have to pay to leave because we suck.
Will this be the norm 10 years from now?
I'm disgusted.

HE SAID... I SHOULD BE DEAD

TONY WALKER
I should be dead.
I'm not dead.
Cancer tried to kill me.
I'm still here.
But did I beat it?

Cancer-Left me without a leg.
-Screwed up my job which messed up my finances.
-Took me away from my kids when they needed me. My son has struggled through school since day one. One of the main reasons he struggles is because I either wasn't there for him when he was real little or his needs had to be put aside to deal with a cancer related issue for me. My daughter's autism sometimes took a back seat to my cancer related crap.

DISABLED BUT ABLE

Tony Walker

OK gang. I am pissed.
I hate to admit it, but I am a disabled person. I try my best to not be disabled but I am reminded every time I use my left foot to control the pedals in my car, every time I have to sit on a bath chair to take a shower, every time my son runs & I cannot chase him because I don't know how to run. However... I can still carry heavy equipment, I can keep up with the 2 guys who are helping me redo my kitchen right now, I can perform in live theatre, & I am better in bed than most men.
One thing I can do is drive a big truck, work special equipment that puts a telephone pole in the ground, climb a ladder, & work on the pole. I received 100% clearance from several doctors allowing me to do the job I had for several years. I busted my ass to get that clearance.
So why won't my employer allow me to do this job? Why would they put me on light duty which denies me overtime? Why would they call me a liability & make fun of me about it? Why would they make me inadequate & take money away from me... money that I need to take care of my family? Why would they force me out, deny my disability retirement request which forced me to collect Social Security, but then they messed with that too?
I am not bucking the system.... it's pretty hard to fake a fake leg.
I've been through hell. I had cancer.
When will it end?!
Well guess what you bastards.... the end may be coming.
Check out this article.
After more than 3 years since I filed my lawsuit I finally have my first court date on July 19. Wish me luck!!
Disabled people are still abled damnit!!!
When I win my lawsuit I am stealing Boyle for a weekend.... a week.... a month... to do some big time celebrating!
