CASEY ANTHONY TRIAL: BICKERING ANNOYS JUDGE PERRY

Marion Pellicano Ambrose

Judge Belvin Perry became frustrated and annoyed at attorneys on both sides of the Casey Anthony trial this morning. He threatened “Exclusion” if the bickering continues. Exclusion could force the trial to start over. In addition, Perry told attorneys that they will now begin their day at 8:30 from now on to discuss issues and stop wasting the jury’s time. The judge informed both attorneys that he was considering possible disciplinary action against the lawyers at the conclusion of the trial. He then adjourned court at 11am.

Mondays at The Lounge we post Random Rants. My Random Rant for this week are Random Thoughts...
Let's get the negative shit out of the way....
Very sad to hear about the passing of "The Big Man."
Even sadder to hear about the scumbag who robbed a pharmacy in Medford, NY then killed the 2 workers & 2 customers in the store. One of the workers was an 18 year old girl who was supposed to graduate high school this week.
Social Security mailed me a letter stating that I owe them $159,000. No problem!
Neither one of my kids said Happy Father's Day to me. My wife said it.... over the phone. She left early yesterday morning for a vacation... without us. Happy Father's Day to me!!
Now the happy stuff....
Very happy to hear about a baby getting out of ICU & going home.
Looking forward to another attack with this week's He Said.
Excited to be working with Boyle & Finneran on "Dyin To Git Hitched." We're going to make that show a smash.
Looking forward to this week's "Be A Rock Star" installment. If you haven't seen it, check it out.
After 2 weeks off Drop Dead Comedy returns with 3 kids shows this Friday during the day, 2 murder mysteries Friday night, & another murder mystery Saturday night. Woo Hoo!!!

Mass Pilot Whale stranding/beaching in Florida Keys; A Report From The Front Line

We, Ocean Rehab board members volunteered during past three days at the Marine Mammal Conservancy to help with the rehabilitation of 4 Stranded/Beached Pilot Whales, and here’s what we know.
Volunteers are needed 24 hours a day and 7 days a week at the Marine Mammal Conservancy until further notice. No one will be turned down when offering to help in any way.
And yes of course this weekend had thousands of Volunteers and Environmentalists from all sectors but we all know the novelty will soon wear out and MMC will be on their own.
4 teams of 3-4 people are needed just for the Whales (in the water) 24 hours a day.
A total of 25 volunteers are needed at all times to assist with multiple other necessary tasks.
We pledge ourselves to help with organizing volunteers for the future tasks at hand.

Rescue Workers support beached polot whales at the Marine Mammal Conservatory
Our own Marion Pellicano Ambrose and Zoologist Patty Smukall leave Tuesday morning to join the Rescue Team at the Marine Mammal Conservancy in Key Largo. They will work 4 hour shifts ( shifts rotate over 24 hour periods) right in with the whales, cradling them and caring for them as they are too weak to keep themselves afloat. Marion will keep us updated as to the whale’s progress throughout the week.
Ocean Rehab was created to engage volunteer citizens (Divers in our case) to protect their local wildlife habitat's and eco-systems (Reefs in our case).  Learn more about Ocean Rehab and the Reef Check Florida project at http://oceanrehab.org/

Today kicks of the last week of school for my kids. I will call this HELL WEEK. Everyone is done. We are all ready for the lazy days of summer to official begin and not have to deal with the ring of the alarm clock anymore!

Two full days, two half days, and one hour are what stand between us and relaxation where the only worry will be what time we will get to the beach. I hope that time will fly and then comes to a halt on Friday by noon. I want to savor the 9 weeks, Labor Day comes around too fast!

I walk without flinching through the burning cathedral of the summer.
My bank of wild grass is majestic and full of music. It is a fire that
solitude presses against my lips.
~ Violette Leduc (Mad in Pursuit)

If a June night could talk,
it would probably boast it invented romance.
~ Bern Williams

He stood beside a cottage lone
And listened to a lute,
One summer's eve, when the breeze was gone,
And the nightingale was mute.

HOLIDAY "RE-RUN"; A Suggested Reading You Might Have Missed...

SHE SAID... DO YOU COLOR IN THE LINES?

Jillian B. Hart

FUN FATHERS DAY FACTS

Father’s day was introduced by Sonora Dodd in Spokane, Washington. She wanted to honor her widowed father William Smart who took care of his six children in the civil War.

More than 110 million greeting cards are sent throughout the world which is kind of less than the one sent on mother’s day. 50% of the cards are purchased for fathers, 20% for husbands and the remaining for Grandfathers or some people who served the dad role in people’s life.

The first father day was announced and celebrated on 19th June, 1910 in the same city where it was originated i.e. Spokane, Washington.

Tie is the most traditional and famous father’s day gift throughout the globe.

Greeting Cards are the no. 1 purchase on Father’s day and almost 92% of the cards are purchased by women.

Father’s day is celebrated at different times around the world like in Thailand it is on 5th December, in Argentina it was tried to celebrate on 24th August just because of the honor of Jose’ de San Martin who worked a lot for the South American countries in getting independence from Spain, in Australia the father’s day is observed on the first Sunday of September and there are many other countries around the globe who celebrate it on different times.

Father’s day was first supported by the President Calvin Coolidge in 1924 and the day i.e. the 3rd Sunday of June was decided by President Lyndon Johnson in 1966.

Father’s day is the fourth most popular card sending holiday in the world after Christmas, Valentine’s day and Mother’s day.

It is said that people spend almost half the money on father’s day as they spend on mother’s day, just because father’s day presents are easy to buy and are more affordable where as Mothers usually get happy with jewels and expensive stuff.

Most of the greeting cards given to fathers on father’s day are humorous. Because it is said that that “Humor” is a safe and typically best language to express your love and emotion when it comes to DAD.
