WHAT DOES SHE REALLY MEAN

TRANSLATIONS PLEASE........

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a not word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

A WORKING CLASS HERO IS SOMETHING TO BE!!

Tony Walker
Tired of all the finger pointing?
Tired of feeling like no matter what you do you just can't get ahead?
Tired of watching the fat cats get fatter?
Tired of all the stupidity?
ME TOO!!!!
Ladies & gentlemen, my name is Tony Walker. And I am running for President!!!

"Tony Walker is broke, physically & financially.
He has no money & no leg.
This Country has no money, no brains, & no balls.
Tony Walker figures it can't get any worse so why not take a shot at fixing this."
I'm tired of getting screwed without a kiss by:
Corporate America
Insurance Companies
Lawyers
Gas Companies
GOVERNMENT
As President I will have American companies keep their businesses in this Country, I will go after the oil companies, & I will have a party every Saturday night at The White House. There are only 2 perks I will take-endless women & the cadillac of prosthetic legs. Is thatOK?

Let's take a look at the economic crisis.
People need jobs. When you have a job you make money. When you make money you spend it. Spending gets the economy moving.
I say legalize prostitution! I say legalize marajuana!
Sex sells. Always has always will. If some slob wants to spend his money on a skankie whore why should we stop him? What harm does it do us?
Shouldn't everyone have the right to get laid??
I don't smoke weed. Never have. But almost everyone I know has & most of them will again.
Why not make it legal? It's less harmful than beer!
With all the money spent on weed & hookers, doesn't it make sense to legalize it, regulate it, tax it, & profit from it?
Think of all the jobs it creates!!!

Outsourcing.
One topic that makes me sick.
As President I will fine companies that outsource.
I know what most people say.... "Americans don't wanna work hard!"
I personally refuse to believe that but if it is true I say we work with the big companies to find a way to get Americans to gain a work ethic this Country once had!

As President I will have a party in The White House every Saturday night. During my term every person that voted for me will get to attend these parties at least once.
I will order Van Halen, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, and many many others to perform at these parties FOR FREE.

As President Dawn Boyle will have a "top secret position" that will require her to stay at The White House overnight a few times a week.

VOTE FOR TONY WALKER!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

EATERY IS OPEN...SPAGHETTI SQUASH WITH MARINARA

Spaghetti Squash with Marinara Sauce and Parmesan Shards1 spaghetti squash
Olive oil

Finely chopped scallions
Salt and pepper

THROUGH HIS EYES

Marion Pellicano Ambrose
This was posted on Facebook by a good friend of mine and it really made me think. What if I could see myself through my dog’s eyes? What if we all could?

Dogs don’t care if you’re too fat or too thin. (My dog thinks I’m beautiful!) They could care less if your socks match or your jeans aren’t designer. (My dog thinks I’m a fashion queen!) They love you even when you’re cranky and feel compelled to make you feel better when you’re sad. (My dog thinks I deserve to be happy all the time.)

My dog thinks I’m important. He looks at me with adoring eyes.

He can’t wait to see me when I come home, even if I’ve only been gone 3 minutes. When I’m gone for more than a day, he mourns for me.  He would rather be with me than do anything else in the world. He’s thrilled if I pay attention to him, but is content to lay by my side when I’m busy with something or someone else.

When I think of myself as my dog sees me, I feel pretty wonderful! I feel special and loved and very, very needed. I wish I could really be what my dog sees when he looks at me!

HART'S DESIRE - AN APPETITE FOR LOVE (RATED M for MATURE)

DESSERT ANYONE???
On this day of love I dedicate this to the one who inspires my writings...
Who inspires me...  XO
Jillian B. Hart
An adult dinner party to celebrate Valentines day seemed like a good idea at the time.  In retrospect, a party of eight had become quite the crowd. Robbing the early evening of an intimacy made for two.  Especially when her day dreams danced to dark hours of the evening and the sweet treats and hot thoughts that whet her appetite, causing her libido to soar.  She couldn't stand it any longer.

She smiled and winked at him tantalizingly - bending over the table and leaning in towards him enough to provoke attention to the soft mounds of flesh spilling from her clingy v-neck. Grinning to herself knowing the red lace of her push up was certainly playing peek-a-boo from his view.

She twisted her eyes to point seductively down the hallway before turning on her heel and clicking stiletto spikes across the hard wood floor. The noise of festivities fading behind her as she fancied her way to the master bathroom. She went in but left the door unlocked. Ran her fingers through her hair tucking some behind her ears and licking her lips to a shine - as she heard the sound of the knob twist and a second later he was in and had locked the door behind him. She turned away from the mirror to face him and before she could inch towards him, he instantaneously lifted her onto the counter and pressed his mouth to hers. Her heart skipped and then raced.  She returned his kiss with equal intensity and want, parting her full painted lips to invite their tongues to tango soft and deep circles together.  Their bodies gravitating like magnets to one another. As he pushed in closer her short skirt rode up her thighs and she wrapped her legs around his waist. Pulling him close enough to feel his hardness pressing against her.  Her pulse rocketed, her hands making fists in his hair as moist heat flooded at the apex of her widely parted legs. His hands roaming her body, petting her bosom and taunting her now firm, hard nipples that begged for attention. She scrambles at his buttons and his shirt fell to the floor.

She pulled at his pants and yanked down the fly. Grabbing him and eagerly inviting him out. He reached under her skirt and was delighted to discover that there were no panties underneath. He lifted her up and parted her swollen flesh with teasing strokes of his manhood. A breathless moan escaped her mouth - the sound dripping with erotic desire, as her arms tightened around him. His hands holding her by the round cheeks of her ass, he hitched her up higher and pressed in, submerging himself, to become fully surrounded by her hot wetness. She gasped with pleasure as he slid deep inside of her. Her legs and arms around his body holding her aloft as she rocked up and down his pulsing rod. She writhed on top of him as he thrust in and out of her. Her moans growing louder as he plunged deeper and deeper. Orgasm pulling at him as her juices were dripped like warm rivers on his thighs and she tighten around him. Harder and faster. His moans now in rhythmic tempo with hers. He purposefully nudged her back against the wall forcing her legs to split further apart, lifting them higher, wanting more. Harder and faster with each stroke. Deeper and more intense he pumped her hard up against the cold tile wall. Her groans mixed with cries of pleading desire. Scorching liquid streamed from her. Her hands tight on his back and her nails slightly dug into him as she felt herself about to slip into erotic rapture. Keenly aware of her mounting climax he hammered into her unrelentingly determined to have her finish all over his throbbing shaft. A raspy voice in his ear, "Come with me!", as she banged her hips against him and a cry of complete ecstasy evaded her lips. Her orgasm ripped through her like a flash of electric current through her veins. She threw her head back and helplessly trembled with pleasure. Her climaxing muscles tightening around him and with one more hard thrust he came into her. Both of them panting for air as she rocked on him to milk every drop, milk every second of this titillating moment, before her body melted onto his and they sank slowly down onto the cool ceramic floor.

He watched her chest rise and fall as they both caught their breath. Their eyes met and they held the glance for a long moment. She once again winked at him as a grin stretched across her face and accented her flushed cheeks.

"We should get back to "dinner" before our guests miss us", he said.

She grabbed his shoulders and pulled his face closer to her, pressing against him with one last long, lingering kiss. Her eyes sparkling as she looked directly into his...

"But, you must promise me seconds later... And be certain to save room for dessert"!

A sexy giggle as she added, "You know how I LOVE DESSERT!"..........

Valentines Day Spashial Cards

Marilyn was missing her husband, Jonas, having lost him only four months earlier. He was a romantic and had always made Valentine’s Day special for her. Each year he made her a special card with a loving verse he wrote himself. Since Valentine’s Day was only a week away, she was feeling very melancholy.

The next morning, the phone rang rather early. It was her favorite niece, Katherine, who was away at art school.

“Aunt Mari”, she said, “ You’re going to be getting a package from me.”

Her voice was shaky and high pitched.

“Honey, are you OK?” Marilyn asked.

“Yes, Aunt Mari, but there’s something I have to tell you. The package isn’t exactly from me.”

“What do you mean” Marilyn asked.

“Last night, something suddenly woke me up. When I sat up, Uncle Jonas was there. He took 4 Valentines out of his pocket and lay them out on my bed. He opened each one and showed me what they said. After he was sure I had read each one and saw the design, he picked them up and put them back in his pocket. He pointed at me and smiled. Then he disappeared. I knew what he wanted. I sketched each one out and wrote down the words. I put each one in a separate envelope and sent them in a package to you. I think he wants you to open one each year.

And that’s exactly what Marilyn did for the next four Valentine’s Days.

On the fifth one, she died in her sleep.

A MESSAGE FROM TONY....

Happy Birthday Delayed Reaction Lounge!!!
The Lounge has educated me, made me laugh, made me sad, it has sexually excited me, made me realize a writing ability I never would've tapped into otherwise, & gave and introduced me to some people who I truly value as friends.
Here's to many more!!!

LET'S CELEBRATE!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
DELAYED REACTION LOUNGE!

Barbara Ward- Finneran
WHOA BABY!!!!!
It's been a year... a wonderful, wicked and wild year!

It doesn't seem possible that it's over a year ago that Dawn and I decided to fly solo, well actually duo, and then build our DRL family.  There's quite a bit of a long and tangled back story there that has never really been shared here at DRL about  how Dawn & I "met" and DRL's conception.  (Note to self... Blog about that!) In the nutshell version Dawn and I decided in late fall of 2010 that we wanted to blog together and in time invite others to blog along with us as "regulars" or "guests".  Both of us having a bizillion other commitments we decided it was would be wise to put launching off to after the holidays.  We set a target launch date of February 14th - a great day for the "new baby" that we would love to be born.

Amidst the chaos of the Christmas holidays and into January we brainstormed and planned a bit.  Flung emails through cyberspace, jotted notes all over the place, and had quite a few marathon phone calls to plan for the birth.  By late January we wondered if our target date could be a reality. I was lost in the design of it all.  Desperately trying to find balance between the designer and writer within me.  In fact, on Thursday, February the 10th, I called Dawn and pretty much told her, "No way. I can't get this designed in time".  I hung up with her reeling and disappointed.  Madder the HELL that I "couldn't" do it.  Madder then HELL, that I couldn't "Keep the promises that you make to yourself"(I made to myself).  Design experience I had plenty of... Website design, not so much.  I had drown myself in delusions of grandeur --- figuring out how to design it all.  HA!  That was funny and not in the ha ha kind of way.

What's a designer to do??? Call your best friend from art school, that's what you do!  Late as it was I rang Laura.  She talked me off the ledge. And, let me tell you, I was looking and equipped to jump.  Like so many times before, Laura helped me find a way to "design it".  There's nothing better then a savvy BFF, who knows your strengths and weaknesses to boot you in the butt and get you to pick yourself up by your stiletto straps--- in design, blogging, and, or life!  Shortly into the conversation she made it so apparent that I was working to reinvent the wheel. DUH!  How did I not see it? That despite my skills, abilities, and desires... I couldn't do it all. Laura and I talked long into the night discussed tools and templates that would allow some design control and yet not become another ball and chain.  I was sold and determined to make that launch date a reality.

Friday morning was just the first of many moments of making Dawn's head spin.  (It's fun sometimes! HA! LOVE YOU DAWN!) The conversation went something like this:
"Remember that I told you it was off?"
"Yes."
"Well, forget everything I said last night! It's on!!! Come hell or high water, we will launch on Monday. It'll be a 'work in progress', but we will launch! WE WILL KEEP THE PROMISES THAT WE MAKE TO OURSELVES!"
"@#%& YEAH!"
"Agreed! @#%& YEAH!"

Not much sleep ensued among the next few days of "blood, sweat, and tears" that followed.  Our baby would be born via a surrogate and her name was "blogger".

Now really, in order to be true to life (especially our crazy lives) --- what would DRL's birth have been without a delayed reaction of some sort! ;)

The weekend was wild and wicked.  I poured myself into Blogger & Adobe Illustrator. Fielded phone calls and texts that enwrapped me with encouragement (Thank you all - you know who you are!) and plowed through the unknown to make it familiar.  Pulling Dawn right along in all the "fun" as she also tended to all the other details. Picture two hamsters (adorable & feisty, lol) stuck in a wheel and going for broke, carrot dangling!  Sunday the 13th was a whirlwind of trying to be ready to launch at midnight.  Last minute finesses and preparing the posts, contacting the other writers, getting every little thing in order. We were exhausted and bringing it right down to the wire.  Yet, knowing it would happen.  Happen on time, like we planned, like we promised!

By 10:30 that night we were really ready.  Still not sure how the heck that happened but we were as ready as we'd ever be, read to rock!

Tick Tock went the clock........
Later still on the phone and not being able to get the timer to work on posts, we decided we'd post it just after midnight.  (Yes, the phrase "Blogger Flog-ker" was born that night too! I should have a dime for every time we've said it since - HA!)

Tick Tock went the clock........
Still on the phone. Still exhausted.  Practically dozing while talking.  We gave up!  Obviously not on the blog. We gave up and gave in.  We put the first post up before midnight and went to bed!  Fatigued, frazzled and flying high!

That is how DRL was born and how "our baby" came a day early.

WHOA BABY!!!!!
It's been a year... a wonderful, wicked and wild year!
Wow!  All very amusing to think back on in retrospect. Like  many things, not so funny at the time.  All memories that I am very thankful for having and hold in my heart.  We've done a lot since that sleep deprived weekend.  We have had over 1, 500 posts read in over 105 countries!  We broke our initial goal of 100,000 posts long, long ago.  We have had stories and posts that make you laugh, cry, feel creepy, get excited, think and comment. (We'd welcome more comments BTW!) Not bad for the little blog that could.

DRL would not have been born with out the love, support and encouragement and of our family and friends (you know who you are!) Let me not fail to mention the endless writing inspiration and material that you have all helped to provide. We thank you & hope you forgive us too - LOL.   DRL would not have grown into a family without the dedication of our regular writers.  Marion, and our funny man, Tony, of Drop Dead Comedy, have gone above and beyond and always have entertaining posts to share every week since day one.  A fact I can't even boast!  Way to go "guys'! Jillian B. Hart and Patty B have been regulars along our journey who have also been well read and embraced.  Jill's Heart's Desire has been know to spark a fire!  Patty's Sticky Sweets are enough to make you crave more. (We miss your posts! I know how life gets in the way ---  but get to writing, and I will too!) Jenn, Gary O, Robert, Michael, Natalie, Bridgette, MicheleJessica Lemoine McGinnis Yee, and "The Good Girl" (You all come back now - real soon! Again, we miss your posts!) have contributed and been enjoyed. (Geez, I hope I got everybody!) The stories and beautiful inspiration from the women of Michael D Colareno's Breast Cancer Awareness Body Painting Project (BCABPP) and his beautiful artwork, who were featured in "Pink Reaction" inspired us to tears.  Many thanks to Doris, Ellen & Pamela --- May the courage and strength that you shared come back to you tenfold! We have successfully cross promoted and have had so much fun with Deanna and The Unnatural Mother.  "Behind the scenes" support and reassurance from our favorite IT friends, Laura, Gary & Jay. The endless questions and laughs with us and at us have been priceless.  Hey... we aim to entertain! :) We wouldn't be still doing this a year later without all of YOU!!!  Dawn & I thank you all from the bottom of hearts and from those places that dreams are made of... and we love you!

None of it would still be going on 365 days later without all of YOU!!!
Without our readers!  Dawn & I thank you all from the bottom of hearts and from those places that dreams are born!!!  Because of all of you DRL was born and better yet - has had a birthday.

We love our readers and hope you'll keep coming back for more!
THANK YOU!  THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU EVERYONE!

It's still a work in progress.  Oh the places we can go!  I know I am looking forward to years ahead!  (Looking forward to finding more time to write again - but, again... that's another blog!)

Stay tuned this week for more memories & re-runs of the best of the best of our first year.
Love, Peace & Prayers... Always,
Barbara

PS... All the non-red text (hyperlinks) will bring you to related posts or websites - Kindly support everyone and click around.  If you are new to DRL you are certain to find some great stuff that you missed! ENJOY!

VALENTINES DAY ON A BUDGET

Bringing Gourmet Home

Enjoying a gourmet dinner at home can save you money but also is more intimate at the same time. Set the mood and create an inviting environment by dimming the lights, using red table linens, and lighting candles. The cost will much cheaper than going out to eat plus you can customize the menu and make your sweetheart’s favorite dish.

Put Some Elbow Into It

Rather than give your sweetheart a gift certificate to go to the spa and get a massage you can offer the massage yourself. And ladies, guys like massages too.

Find It Free

For all those parents who plan to get out for the evening on Valentine’s Day enlist the help of “free” babysitting by calling Grandma and Grandpa. If you’re spending money on going out, try to save on babysitting. Plus Valentine’s Day will be fun for your kids too if they get to see their grandparents.

Sometimes The Early Bird Isn't The Winner

You can always try celebrating Valentine’s Day after February 14. That’s not all that uncommon of a practice. When Valentine’s Day falls during the workweek it is sometimes impractical to celebrate the holiday on the exact day it occurs. This year Valentine’s Day falls in the middle of the week on a Wednesday, so you can look for ways to celebrate the holiday on the following weekend. Candy and other Valentine’s Day merchandise is usually discounted the day after.
Look for ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day at a discount so you can have just as much fun but at a fraction of the price.

TWO NEW PRINCESSES FOR 2012

Marion Pellicano Ambrose

Get ready for two new Disney princesses in 2012! The first new princess will be a pint sized bundle of trouble named Sofia the First. Sofia becomes a princess when her mother marries a king. They move to the royal castle where she finds her new stepbrother and stepsister. Other Disney princesses will appear in the movie and animated series. Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather of Sleeping Beauty fame will be the headmistresses of Sofia’s royal prep school.  Young star Ariel Winter will be the voice of Sofia the First. Both the movie and animated series will target the preschool age group, but that won’t stop me from watching! (Fall 2012)

The new princess I can’t wait to meet is Princess Merida, the main character of Pixar’s upcoming film “Brave”. Merida is a Scottish Princess who is the most skilled archer ever known. Her mother, the Queen, has high expectations of Merida, but the princess prefers the wilderness , wishing to lead a quiet life pursuing her dreams. Merida eventually learns how much her family cares for her and that she can still pursue her dreams as a princess. Kelly Macdonald provides the voice of Princess Merida.(June 2012)

Some trivia about Princess Merida from “Disney Wiki”Add a photo to this gallerySAS

  • She is expected to join the Disney Princess franchise, making her the first Disney Princess to come from Pixar and the 11th Disney Princess in the franchise.
  • Mérida is the third Pixar Princess after Atta and Dot in 1998.
  • Mérida was originally to be voiced by Reese Witherspoon, but due to scheduling conflicts she was replaced by Scottish actress Kelly Macdonald.
  • If Mérida joins the Disney Princess franchise, she'd be the second Disney Princess with red hair (the first being Ariel from The Little Mermaid) and the third blue-eyed Disney Princess (the other 2 being Cinderella and Ariel).
  • If Mérida joined the Disney princess franchise, she would have been the 2nd computer animated princess the first being Rapunzel.
  • If Mérida joined the Disney princess franchise, she would have been the first never to sing... unless "Brave" becomes the first Pixar film to be musical.
  • Mérida is the first female lead in Pixar history.
  • Mérida is the first to have a talent in a sport. Pocahontas could as the first, since she is able to canoe with Mulan being the second with martial arts.
  • The setting location for Mérida's story is the sixth specified after Snow White(Germany), Belle (France), Pocahontas (Virginia, USA), Mulan (China), and Tiana (Lousiana, USA). Jasmine is the exception, since though the setting is of Middle Eastern influence and architecture, there is no country name ever mentioned for the location of the Agrabah Kingdom.
  • Mérida would be the first Disney Princess to have siblings of the opposite gender (three triplet brothers to be exact), since the other Disney Princesses have sisters or are an only child.

I can’t wait to meet the new Disney princesses! You can say whatever you want, but I still believe most girls dream of being a princess in a fairy tale life, even 40 something (or even 50 something) girls!
