LOSING BELLY FAT-THE SASSY WAY!

Marion Pellicano Ambrose

Sassy Water is the signature drink of the bestselling Flat Belly Diet! It claims to help melt belly fat. I figured, what the heck, I’ll give it a try.
Drinking enough water each day is a must to maintain your body’s proper fluid balance and guard against water retention (another tip: avoid high-sodium foods). Staying hydrated also helps prevent constipation, which can cause bloating. Here are other Sassy Water benefits:

• The ginger in Sassy Water helps calm and soothe your GI tract.

• It’s a heck of a lot perkier than plain old water—and makes a great substitute for high-calorie, sugary drinks and carbonated beverages (where do you think those bubbles end up? In your belly!)

• The simple act of making Sassy Water every day will help you focus on the task of losing weight.

• If you don’t like some of the ingredients or can’t have them for health reasons, just leave them out and you’ll still reap the debloating benefits. The key is to be sure that you’re consuming an adequate amount of water daily.

Here’s the recipe:
SASSY WATER RECIPE

2 liters water (about 8 1/2 cups)

1 tsp freshly grated ginger

1 med cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced

1 med lemon, thinly sliced

12 small spearmint leaves

1. Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and let flavors blend overnight in the fridge.

2. Strain the ingredients out of the water the next morning and drink all 2 liters by the end of the day.

I’ll let you know how it goes. I’m also following Atkins (no carbs) which works pretty well for me if I really stick to it. I’m determined to lose 35 pounds by the end of April for my daughter’s college graduation! If I do, I’ll post a before and after picture. If I don’t, I’ll post a picture of me in a pig mask! How’s that for incentive!

WILL A LESSON BE LEARNED FROM YURI WRIGHT??

Kids and parents need to take note! High school kids, especially high school kids seeking a Division I scholarship to play football, should probably lay off the Twitter/Facebook.

Michigan abruptly stopped recruiting Don Bosco Prep star Yuri Wright,  was the No. 3 cornerback out of New Jersey. He tweeted using some sexual and racist comments. His high school has suspended him as well.

Before you tweet or post something use the ten second rule....and NEVER post anything that will bite you in the ass in the future!!!

Phone sex... Fun for some, taboo for others...

I know 2 couples who split up as a result of phone sex. One the husband was addicted to it & spent way too much money on it, the other where the wife was doing it with a guy she knew & the relationship went beyond the phone. Crazy!!

I have a friend who used to be a phone sex operator. She claims she once got a call from a guy who turned out to be someone she graduated high school with! Now THAT'S crazy!

I've done it. It doesn't replace the real thing but it was fun.
I wonder if Skype will be the new way to go!

Tell us what you think. Have you ever had phone sex?
Do you think it's a form of cheating?
Do you think it's a strange thing to do?

WHAT MATTERS...

Making peace with your past.

Gathering a child in your arms and hugging them just because!

Holding your tongue.

Knowing what you want, and wanting it bad enough to work to make it happen.

Random acts of kindness.

Knowing when to splurge.

Keeping the promises that you make to yourself!

MARKY MARK....seriously??

Do you think Mark Wahlberg's
Dawn Boyle

Yo it's about that time to bring forth the rhythm and the rhyme
I'm a get mine so get yours I wanna see sweat comin' out your pores....

Who's sweating now....
In a magazine interview, Mark Wahlberg said: "If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn't have went down like it did.

"There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, 'OK, we're going to land somewhere safely, don't worry.'"

One widow of a 9/11 victim had called the comments "disrespectful".

After making the comments in Men's Journal magazine, the 40-year-old issued a formal apology.

"To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with, and to suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible," he said.
"I deeply apologise to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive. It was certainly not my intention."

Marky Mark, started acting in 1993. He is now promoting his latest movie Contraband, a thriller in which he plays a former smuggler forced to protect his brother-in-law.

He has also produced TV shows like Entourage, In Treatment and Boardwalk Empire. I am a firm believer in freedom of speech, but sometimes it's better to stick to being a hero on the big screen. I think that many people in Hollywood should stick to their day jobs.

OH....and I would love a MARKY MARK and the FUNKY BUNCH reunion! YO! IT'S ABOUT THAT TIME!

YOU CAN'T TAKE IT BACK...

Tony Walker
Here's a situation we've all been in before.
"I hate you!"
"Your best is not good enough!"
"I never wanna see you again!"
These & many more are the things we say but usually don't mean. Most of the time we say these words to the people we care about the most & regret it immediately after we say it.
Recently, someone very important to me was arguing with me. Sure enough the "I hate you" came out.
It stopped me dead in my tracks. A part of me knows this person didn't mean it but another part of me wonders what led this person to say it.
Does this person harbor some heavy negative feelings about me? How can my friend be so mean?
I'll admit that it messed with my head.
What bothered me even more was the half ass apology I got. Maybe it's me but if I say something like that I'm doing some heavy ass kicking for awhile.
Tell us what you think. How do you feel when someone says something like that to you? What do you do when you're the one who said it?

STOP PIRACY,NOT LIBERTY!

Marion Pellicano Ambrose

Almost 7,000 websites are protesting in some form today, against the US House of Representatives “Stop Piracy Act” and the Senate’s “Protect IP Act”. Some are going dark, while others are posting protests. Just this morning, I had 3 different posts condemning these 2 pieces of legislature.

Some of the sites firmly protesting are: Wikipedia, Google, Reddit, WordPress, TwitPic, Cheezburger, BoingBoing, several gaming companies including Minecraft, and Mozilla, source of the Firefox web browser. Wikipedia, BoingBoing and Minecraft have gone dark. Others, like Google, are displaying home page illustrations or visual statements about censorship and urging visitors to contact their elected representatives.

Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas), sponsor of SOPA, responded to Wikipedia going black: “It is ironic that a website dedicated to providing information is spreading misinformation about the Stop Online Piracy Act. The bill will not harm Wikipedia, domestic blogs or social networking sites. This publicity stunt does a disservice to its users by promoting fear instead of facts. Perhaps during the blackout, Internet users can look elsewhere for an accurate definition of online piracy.”

Senator Marco Rubio rescinded his support of  The Protect IP Act (PIPA).Rubio joined a growing number of elected officials from both parties who are distancing themselves from, if not outright condemning, PIPA and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). The bills have been attracting an increasing amount of criticism over the past few weeks, but this level of exodus began after the White House signaled on Saturday that it wouldn’t support the bills.

SOPA and PIPA are both designed to prohibit servers from accessing websites “dedicated” to copyright infringement, and make websites liable for hosting pirated material. Media companies, who claim that piracy is costing them money and forcing layoffs, are the biggest supporters of the bills. The bills have come under intense scrutiny both for their possible implications in web censorship and for putting the United States in a position of policing an international realm. Rubio now says he worries about the ramifications of PIPA on the freedom and agility of the internet.

WILL CINQUE TERRE SURVIVE? You Can Help Tell Their Story

You may have heard about the Cinque Terre and its five, picturesque, tiny coastal villages, in Italy. Cinque Terre is made up of five once-remote villages along Italy’s Ligurian coast.  You may have been there and hiked the trails that connect them. Maybe you've heard about, or even tasted, the rare, unique dessert wine made there called Sciacchetrà.

But what you might not know is that the ancient wine and other traditions of these villages may be about to vanish in the wake of rising tourism, political upheaval, and most recently, a terrible natural disaster.

Sharon Boeckle and Krista Lee Weller are two independent filmmakers of Harvest Films who came together in 2008 and traveled to Italy to document the unique traditions of Cinque Terre's 5,000 residents and their efforts to achieve sustainable tourism amid a staggering tourist onslaught. In recent years, the region has gained international fame for its unique beauty, drawing in 3 million visitors annually.

Directors Sharon Boeckle and Krista Lee Weller set out to document the decade-long measures that had been established by the Cinque Terre National Park, measures intended to balance modern-day ecotourism with the preservation of the Cinque Terre traditions and culture, most notably its winemaking tradition. After recording the stories of residents and documenting the process of becoming a UNESCO site, their filming wrapped in 2010.

But only two weeks after the film crew wrapped shooting in 2010, the Cinque Terre National Park was thrown into political upheaval and most of the programs designed for preservation were eliminated or changed. One year after that, this past October 2011, two of the five villages were nearly destroyed in flooding and landslides, leaving the citizens in a race against time to re-open for the 2012 tourist season, upon which their livelihoods depend.

These tragic complications have now brought these filmaking women to a race against time to return to Italy and document the villages, their citizens and the challenges they are facing now.

The documentary film Vendemmia began as a story about the Cinque Terre’s efforts for sustainable ecology, environmental preservation, and eco-tourism.  It’s ending up as a story questioning its future. That's the story the directors need your help to share.

It's not too late. Not yet.
Harvest Films has turned to crowd sourcing, asking lovers of Italy to help them tell the story of this incomparable bit of Italy. Donations will be used to fund the documentary and release the film to a wider audience. Sharon & Krista, independent and self-funded filmmakers, have raised over $3000 in a Kickstarter campaign which has received support from as far away as Europe and Australia. Anyone can donate, as little as a few dollars or as high as a few thousand, and receive DVD copies, signed film posters, and even a stay at a B&B in Tuscany in exchange for their generosity.

All donations will be used directly to fund the return to finish filming. For more information on how you can help to finish the documentary Vendemmia, and tell Cinque Terre’s story to the world, visit the Kickstarter page to read more about the project and make a donation before the deadline on the 31st of January.
