YOU CAN'T TAKE IT BACK...

Tony Walker
Here's a situation we've all been in before.
"I hate you!"
"Your best is not good enough!"
"I never wanna see you again!"
These & many more are the things we say but usually don't mean. Most of the time we say these words to the people we care about the most & regret it immediately after we say it.
Recently, someone very important to me was arguing with me. Sure enough the "I hate you" came out.
It stopped me dead in my tracks. A part of me knows this person didn't mean it but another part of me wonders what led this person to say it.
Does this person harbor some heavy negative feelings about me? How can my friend be so mean?
I'll admit that it messed with my head.
What bothered me even more was the half ass apology I got. Maybe it's me but if I say something like that I'm doing some heavy ass kicking for awhile.
Tell us what you think. How do you feel when someone says something like that to you? What do you do when you're the one who said it?

  1. Years ago I told my father I hated him. I felt guilty about it, but didn't apologize because ultimately, I did hate him. I loved him, but hated him just the same if that makes sense.
Every situation is different, so don't take my experience to mean the same for yours.
