CASEY ANTHONY BREAKS DOWN IN COURT

Marion Pellicano Ambrose
Judge Belvin Perry called an early recess in the Casey Anthony trial Thursday morning. It was a day of showing and discussing crime scene photos including Caylee’s remains. Casey Anthony appeared to be pale and trembling, holding the sleeve of her sweater and a ball of tissues to her mouth. She looked away from the monitor for most of the testimony. According to Attorney Baez, Casey has never seen the crime scene photos.  Forensic anthropologist John Schultz testified that Caylee's vertebrae were found all in the same place, showing that the body was intact when it was brought there.

"We collected all but one tooth. We have most of the spine, many of the ribs, all of the long bones, the tiny bones, hand, feet, left foot and we did recover one bone of the right foot. The only reason we have one bone of the right foot is because we had carnivore activity on that part of the skeleton," Schultz said. “These bones were completely dry, no decomposition odor. There was some slight erosion on some of the bones which would take time, [they were] found under leaf litter. One bone was basically buried".
Schultz also testified that duct tape was covering the mouth of the skeleton but he couldn't say for certain that it was covering the nose. Fibers from the duct tape were also found in the skeleton's hair.
When the scull of little Caylee was shown and the witness testified that it had been gnawed on by animals, Casey broke down , sobbing and shaking. Judge Perry called an early recess for the morning. Casey remained in Sick Bay. George and Cindy Anthony, who had been pre-warned by the judge, were not in court .

According to reports by ABC News, the remains were found by meter reader, Roy Kronk. Legal experts believe the defense will attempt to vilify Kronk. In opening statements, defense attorney Jose Baez claimed that Kronk tampered with the crime scene and wanted to profit off of finding Caylee's remains.

The subject of crime scene photos seems to have spiked the interest of the public. Crowds of people lined up to get the 50 available tickets to the trial. Paramedics were called when a woman was knocked down during a scuffle of over 100 people hoping to get a ticket. Even though spectators are not supposed to line up before 5:30am, crowds began to form by 1am. The trial resumed this morning and picked up where it left off yesterday, with more crime scene photos and gory details of Caylee's remains.
