FISHNETS & OTHER CONTRAPTIONS

DAWN BOYLE
I have a saying I use with my kids to get them to eat different things "if you try it, you might like it". That being said I have one kid that will try anything and the other - not so much.

Growing up I was so scared to put my toe in to test the waters on many levels. I never ate fish, didn't swim in the ocean til I was a teenager and would NEVER go into a haunted house at an amusment park. I have been implementing my try it-like it theory within myself for a few months...it's amazing what I have found out about myself and how I have learned a love for things I would never imagined eating or doing. Take this blog for instance, a couple of months ago Barbara and I spoke about how much we loved writing.
It was a venting mechanism for me and a release for her with her incredible writing and artistic abilities. We discussed missing it and the people who would mention they missed us as well. One week ago with zero knowledge of starting a blog we made the decision. We were up and running within in three days, and getting ads within the first 24 hours. We don't have hits in the hundreds of thousands, but for only spreading the word to our friends and not being on a search engine yet - we are doing pretty damn good! We are a small fish in a huge pond out here in the blogging world, but are happy to be doing something we love and hope you enjoy as well. "Do what you love", don't get tangled up in yours or someone else fishnets or other contraptions...you will be happy once you made it on your own.

Also you gotta try grilled octopus...it's amazing and my kids love it!

  1. Well said Dawn! Good luck to you! It's a great site. Shoot for the stars and achieve your dreams. The problem is always just starting what you talk and dream about.

  8. Dawn, You're so right about Barb's incredible talent, but from what I've seen you are a talented and insightful writer yourself. I understand you also are the techno brain while Barb is the graphics/layout genie! I'm enjoying reading everything on the site and am also finding release and satisfaction in writing once again! Thanks for the opportunity! You and Barb ROCK!
