40 DAYS....

Today is Ash Wednesday, which is the beginning of Lent for Christians. To honor what we feel was sacrificed by Jesus for us, Christians give something up for lent as a personal sacrifice. On Fridays during Lent we are not supposed to eat meat. The ashes used are from the Palm of last Palm Sunday. This is the most holy time of year for Christians.

Today's Lunch Time Poll

If you are a practicing Catholic/Christian will you be giving something up for Lent?
If you are not, what do you do to feed your spirituality, "religiously" related, or otherwise?

  1. I'm giving up my beloved Chocolate, but I also fast and abstain on Fridays. I try to take time out each day for quiet prayer and meditation. Usually, life is too busy to do that, but during Lent I make it happen.

  2. @ Mambrose - I too will abstain and fast.

My children will attempt to get dressed and ready for school without crying or fighting - if that happens it will be a true miracle!
